Workstation for brake calipers pre-assembly
The workstation is used to assembly 2 guide pins to fix the brake discs in the caliper using an electric torque wrench. It ensures the prescribed tightening torque. After turning the caliper in the fixing mechanism, the operator tilts the caliper into an ergonomic position for the next operation - mounting the connecting tube for the brake fluid. The operator uses another torque wrench, this time with a special open attachment. The torque wrench again ensures the correct moment of tightening the joints.
Interesting facts
A pneumatic brake controlled by a pedal on the floor is used to lock in the ideal position when tightening. The workplace also contains a sensor that reads the code of each caliper and it is uploaded together with the tightening torques to the system.
